Bots - Faking Human Interaction.
A bot is a software application that is programmed to do different tasks and they are completely automated, which means they run according to their instructions without any human user, needing to manually start them up every time.
Many sites use this to get rated higher than their competition! So when you choose who to endorse, request a view of the "real" logs to avoid 90% bots and 10% human visitors. Makes sense ??? Should if you are a businessman or woman...
As you can see, most bots come from Russia.
Bots usually imitate a human user's behavior online.
They are used by Black Hats to register fake accounts on forums and sites and then they publish pure crap, whenever possible.
It is basically a script, that tries to imitate human interaction with a site.
I use my own scripts, but they are intended to hunt down and find the person "Black Hat", so it is not so much of a bot intention as a hunt.
So far we are attracting mostly "Russian" bots, with few exceptions. Added some extra protection, so now we almost do not get any bots.

This list is under constant updating and I recommend blocking both the bots names and IP-addresses, since I have noticed some are changing their bots name and have additional e-mail accounts!
