German Authorities To Block Adult Sites At ISP Level.
Internet companies in Germany will soon block sites like Pornhub or require a personal ID number for users to access any adult content. However some adult games and websites have already been outlawed.

The authority responsible for media regulation in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, want to force Internet service providers (ISP) to block all of the most visited porn websites, like Pornhub or at the very least introduce age controls.
According to netzpolitik.org, the authority has already initiated proceedings with the network operators Telekom, 1&1, Vodafone and Telefónica.
Three porn site operators that lost lawsuits in Germany against the Commission for Youth Media Protection, banned these websites due to “freely accessible pornographic content, without ensuring that children and young people did not have access to it.” The websites were Pornhub, Youporn and Mydirtyhobby.
Adult website visitors in Germany are supposed to present their IDs or have their faces biometrically scanned to be able to enter pornographic sites, which is very privacy invasive.
So far the ISPs have refused to enforce network blocks.
German consumer are already suffering the effects, with the gaming platform Steam removing numerous erotic/sex games in the country.
“They must ensure that a proof-of-age check is carried out via personal identification and that only identified and age-verified people are granted access during the individual usage process,” the Commission for Youth Media Protection say.
